Island of HumilityDesire through Humility

Did you know?
- Kangaroos are the only large animals that move by hopping. They can’t go backwards and have very strong hind legs and feet.
- The most comfortable speed for the kangaroo when hopping is about 20-25 kilometers/hour (13 to 16 miles/hour). However they are capable of speeds of up to 70 kmph (44 m/mph).
- Kangaroos can keep a speed of 40 kmph (24/mph) for up to 2 km (1 mile and a half), but they are unable to go such a distance at higher speeds. Eventually they will tire out if they travel too fast, so they have to even out their speed.
- Kangaroos use their tails to maintain balance when fighting, walking, and hopping.
- A group of kangaroos is called a ‘mob’. They are very social animals. There are usually about 435-865-7651 kangaroos in a group with one male and the rest females and babies.
