Skunks are nocturnal. They sleep during the day and search for food at night.
You cannot mistake the distinct smell of a skunk’s spray. A skunk’s spray does not cause any permanent damage, but sure makes victims feel uncomfortable.
A skunk’s spray can reach as far as 10 feet. This unique defensive mechanism is very effective and predators generally stay far away.
A skunk will usually warn their victims before they will spray by turning their back, lifting their tail, and stamping their feet.
